The quote below found its way into my inbox as part of an email's signature. It is found on their blog as well. I love this quote. I often take pictures because I think that is what I am supposed to be doing, but at the same time I am always aware of the impossibility of truly capturing the moment. And so I take many pictures but rarely remember to send them off to get developed or organize them in an album. I like to think of the moments as they are happening, and fully embrace them, and then let them go. But sometimes I think my kids will wonder where the pictures are and I will sit down to the computer and send a batch or two off to be developed.
At some point in life the world's beauty becomes enough. You don't need to photograph, paint or even remember it. It is enough. No record of it needs to be kept and you don't need someone to share it with or tell it to. When that happens — that letting go — you let go because you can.
